ACTS in 3 Words

This fall we have been spending intentional time with the ACTS kids in each generation asking them about what ACTS and this ministry mean to them. We can dream and plan and pray all we want as leaders, but what has always been the driving force and navigating north star of ACTS are our kids. This ministry is FOR them, but it is also BECAUSE - OF and WITH and BY them as well. ACTS is what it is because our youth speak into and lead us into where we are called to serve and show up.

When we asked a few of our youngest members to describe ACTS in 3 words, this is what they had to say:

“ART, Sharing MEALS, PLAY”

“RESPECT, FUN, SAFE”

“WONDERFUL, FAMILY, AMAZING”

It is not lost on us that 13+ years ago a group of young teens discerned that what this group needed to be for one another was FAMILY. They decided what we needed to work to embody and practice in our lives were ARTS, COMMUNITY, TEACHING, & SERVING. And here today all these years later the young children, who benefit from and exist in the ministry those teens helped create, are able to feel and know that ACTS is FAMILY and ART and COMMUNITY.

Because a group of young teens (all those years ago) were brave enough to say what they were lacking and what they deeply desired to have and do in life, today we have an ACTS family that is making sure we show up and provide those very things in the lives of dozens of children daily.
